Soar As Eagles – Speak Up!

What would happen to your relationship if it was hit or miss with your conversations with your spouse, or if you only “spoke” when you went to church together? That relationship would quickly dissolve, as an intimate relationship thrives on regular and open communication. It is through consistent dialogue that partners understand each other’s thoughts, feelings, and needs, allowing for a stronger bond to form. Likewise, when it comes to our connection with the Lord, many people seem to think that praying to God is a one-way conversation and that He never talks back. However, this perspective can be misleading. Just as meaningful relationships require active participation from both sides, our relationship with God can often be enriched through moments of meditation, silence, and the quiet whispers of guidance. It invites us to reconsider the ways we engage with the Lord, asking ourselves whether we are truly listening and opening our hearts to that two-way communication with Him.

Prayer is us reaching out to God, and in return, God reaches out to us through His Word or through other believers. God wants us to pray and He wants to show us His will, guiding us along our journey. He desires a deep, personal relationship with each of us, one that flourishes through prayer and heartfelt conversation. He also wants to reveal Himself to us if we would only take time to be still from the hustle and bustle of the world, to quiet our minds and open our hearts, creating a place for His presence. In these moments of solitude, we are able to listen more intently, inviting His peace and wisdom to wash over us as we seek understanding and clarity in our lives. It is in prayer that we find strength, comfort, and hope, aligning ourselves with God’s purpose.

God desires to meet with us. So much so, He left His Holy Spirit to dwell within us, offering a constant companion and guide in our daily lives. Spend time getting to know Him through prayer, meditation, and reading His Word, allowing these moments to deepen your relationship with Him. Thank Him for your blessings, both big and small, recognizing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things. Bless Him for who He is—a loving, merciful, and just God—acknowledging His goodness in every situation. Share your heart with Him openly; tell Him your troubles and needs, for He listens intently. He wants to carry your burdens so you don’t have to, inviting you to lay your anxieties at His feet and experience the freedom that comes from trusting in His plan for you. Let this be a reminder of His unwavering presence and the comfort that He offers in every season of life.

Soar As Eagles – Listen With Intent

Podcasts and YouTube videos have become quite popular amongst Christians. They listen to their favorite teachers and preachers while driving to work or when working around the house, finding inspiration and guidance in their messages. I’m not saying that this isn’t good, as it is indeed a great use of one’s time, providing spiritual nourishment in the midst of a busy life. However, what I am saying is be careful who you listen to; not all voices in the Christian community are rooted in sound doctrine. We are living in the end times and there is a lot of deception out there. It is essential to discern the teachings presented and ensure that you have researched this person’s beliefs—are they truly aligned with the Bible and its teachings? Always compare their messages with Scripture and seek counsel if you’re uncertain, as this due diligence helps to safeguard your faith and understanding. Engaging with content that is biblically sound will not only deepen your relationship with God but will also equip you to deal with life’s challenges more effectively.

Furthermore, just because it appears that your favorite speaker uses the Scriptures, it doesn’t mean that he or she isn’t twisting their meaning in order to accomplish his own goals. Satan was seen as a serpent in the Garden of Eden, a creature that symbolizes cunning and deception. The most prominent feature of a snake is its forked tongue, which can be likened to the devious nature of those who misinterpret divine teachings for personal gain. False teachers adopt the deceptiveness of their father the devil and have that forked tongue as well, cleverly manipulating words and concepts to suit their agendas. They change the meaning of Scripture just enough to deceive their listeners, appealing to the uninformed. Look at what happened to Eve! “Hath God said”? (Genesis 3:1) The enemy has succeeded in deceiving many, leading them astray from the authentic message of God’s Word. A mere online search will show you who the top ten preachers are, and all of them are either millionaires or close to it, living lifestyles that starkly contrast the teachings of humility and sacrifice. This alarming trend begs the question: how many are genuinely called to shepherd their flocks, and how many are simply masquerading as guides, all in pursuit of financial enrichment?

Be careful who you listen to, as the voices around us can often lead us astray. Instead, turn to your audio Bible when you find it challenging to read, allowing the powerful words of Scripture to wash over you and fill your heart. Make your Bible your final authority in every area of your life. There are no lies within its pages; instead, it is filled with the pure and untainted words of truth that guide us through difficult times and light our way. Protect yourself from false teachers! Let the Holy Spirit be your teacher – He will never steer you wrong! So listen with the intention of hearing from God because not all preachers are what they seem.

Soar As Eagles – Overcoming Despondency

As a born-again believer, I sometimes get despondent and discouraged about the trials in my life, particularly when faced with challenges that seem insurmountable. Recognizing that emotion is the first step in order to bring about the healing I desperately seek. I often think of Job in the Old Testament who lost everything (except his complaining wife) but yet remained faithful through unimaginable suffering. His unwavering attitude during times of despair serves as a powerful reminder of resilience and devotion. We can learn from his experience and how he described how he was feeling (see Job 3:3, Job 16:16, Job 23:16). This is exactly how I felt during a recent trial when I felt overwhelmed.

We may even feel the way Job did, struggling with our own questions of faith and purpose during life’s darkest moments, but it is so important to remember that enduring faith can lead to wonderful spiritual growth and understanding of what our Heavenly Father is trying to accomplish in our lives.

We have a lot to learn from Job’s trials. It’s not a sin to question God about your trials, reader! In reading about Job’s life, I’ve learned:

  • that he had unconditional faith;
  • that suffering isn’t always due to sin;
  • God is sovereign over our lives;
  • that perseverance is so important;
  • and the limits of human understanding of God’s will and purpose.

We can’t always put our finger on the answers to life’s hardships, but we can reach for the hem of Christ’s garment and receive peace and spiritual healing as we go through our trials. In times of distress, turning our hearts and minds toward Him allows us to find peace amidst the chaos surrounding us. Encourage yourself in the Word by reading through Psalms, where each verse is filled with encouragement and profound insights that help us deal with our deepest struggles. There is so much comfort and encouragement to glean from the prayers and praises woven into its chapters. It serves as a timeless reminder of God’s unfailing love and presence in our lives. Do you think that the Lord knew we would need it? I surely do! His wisdom goes beyond time, knowing our hearts would crave peace and strength to live through the challenges we face each day.

I end today’s devotional with these verses because they are not only helpful in relieving ourselves of despondency, but they are beautiful instructions on how to live with peace instead of discouragement.

Soar As Eagles – You’re Connected!

The first mention of angels came when Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden and Cherubims guarded the entrance with a flaming sword (Genesis 3:24). Again, we see Cherubims on the ark of the testimony at the mercy seat (Exodus 25:22). Because God Himself gave the instructions on how they should constructed, we can see that Cherubim have wings. That is not to say that all angels have wings. Hebrews 13:2 tells us not to forget to entertain strangers because some have entertained angels unawares. As well, Genesis 19:5 describes angels looking like men. No matter how you view angels, we know that God has assigned some to take care of and protect us here on earth.

These verses highlight God’s promise to send His angelic messengers to protect, guide, and serve believers. This gives us reassurance that we are not alone and God is always providing protection in one form or another. We are literally connected to God through His Holy Spirit as He dwells within every born-again believer. You are not alone! I can give you several examples from my own family and friends that give an account of angels protecting us.

Since there are heavenly angels, we learn there are also demonic ones, commonly referred to as demons. These malevolent beings are considered to be the helpers of Satan and serve his nefarious purposes, continually attacking us in various ways. They might instigate doubt and fear, tempting individuals to stray from their moral paths or create discord within relationships. Furthermore, demons can influence emotions, manipulating circumstances to lead people into despair or chaos. Understanding their existence reminds us of the ongoing spiritual battle that takes place around us, urging us to remain vigilant, seek strength, and rely on our faith to counteract their insidious tactics.

Our Father did not leave us defenseless but has provided us with the tools of spiritual armour in order to fight these battles. Anyone who is “in their bibles” regularly can tell you the different pieces of our spiritual armour. But what about when the possible attacks come at times when we need more than just that? A friend of mine was walking with her mother when she was a little girl. My friend was half way across the street when she was pushed out of the way of on-coming traffic. When she got up, her mother was on the other side of the street! So who pushed her? I truly believe it was one of guardian angels taking care of her. That same friend led me to the Lord, and in turn I was able to lead others to the Lord! Imagine if she had not been pushed out of harms way?

I’m sure there are many such stories to be heard. I share this post about angels only as a reminder that you are connected to the Lord in more ways than salvation. God has you on His mind all the time; yes, you!

Soar As Eagles – Living Life

There are so many motivational “Christian” preachers out there who focus primarily on achieving worldly success, often prioritizing wealth and personal achievement in their messages. They build their messages on success rather than what God says in His Word, which emphasizes humility, service, and spiritual growth. If you live your life according to the Scriptures, you will not only find joy in your everyday life but also cultivate a deep relationship with God, ultimately leading to a life full of purpose and meaning. Will it be a successful life according to the world? Maybe not! It might not line up with the world’s standards of success, but it will be a life that is pleasing to God.

Read today’s verses and concentrate on the text in bold. Look at what the Lord considers good. If you’re a negative thinker, this counsel will be a growing process.

  • Make a joyful noise – sing songs of praise in your home; let your life be a testimony to the lost
  • Serve the LORD with gladness – in everything you do at home, at work, and your ministry, serve God with joy.
  • Come with singing – SING! Singing always brings joy to your heart!
  • The LORD he is God – This reminds us WHO we are serving!
  • Enter into his gates with thanksgiving – Be thankful for what you have – it keeps you from coveting what you don’t have.
  • Enter with praise: be thankful – When you praise God for His goodness, thankfulness follows!
  • Bless his name – Bless God and tell Him exactly what you are thankful for!

When our spiritual life reflects these things, we come to one awesome conclusion, and that is the LORD is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures forever! As we grow in faith and understanding, we begin to see the beauty in His creation and the grace in our circumstances, even during trials and tribulations. Practice makes perfect, and through continuous effort and dedication, we become vessels of His love!

Soar As Eagles – Soaring Above Prickly People

What does someone do when there are people in your life who make your life so uncomfortable? We often hear those stories during holiday meal times where everyone is on edge, and people live in fear of those very things that could spoil the joyous occasion. Tensions can rise quickly, turning the atmosphere thick with unspoken words and awkward glances. It’s not like one can simply bow out of the event without creating further drama, so how does one effectively handle these challenging situations? The key may lie in preparation and perspective; understanding the dynamics at play can be crucial in maintaining one’s peace. More importantly, what does God’s Word have to say about it? The Scriptures offer insights and wisdom on how to approach conflicts, encouraging us to cultivate patience and kindness in the face of these situations. How can we overcome and soar as eagles, as the Bible suggests, finding strength in our faith and resilience to get above these uncomfortable interactions? Through prayer, seeking guidance, and embodying the grace taught in Scripture, we can cope with these moments with dignity and love.

The first reaction is to get upset and speak our minds, allowing our emotions to take charge of our responses. However, let’s take a moment to pause and see what the Bible has to say about such situations. Please read the following verses with genuine intent and purpose, and an open heart. They are meant to guide us through our feelings and lead us to a deeper understanding. If you truly want to have a spiritual awakening in this area, then humbly ask the Holy Spirit to help you grow and develop in this area of your life. Embrace the journey of the transforming power of God (2 Corinthians 5:17), as it may require patience and practice, but trust that with the Spirit’s guidance, we can learn to respond with love and wisdom rather than anger.

Putting these verses into practice is like working out at the Holy Spirit’s spiritual-growth gym, where each session strengthens our inner selves and deepens our faith. We must exercise that spiritual-growth muscle, continually pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zones and embracing the challenges that come our way. Just as physical fitness requires dedication and persistence, spiritual growth also demands a committed approach to learning, prayer, and reflection. Growth does not happen overnight – it’s an ongoing spiritual workout, filled with ups and downs, triumphs and setbacks, all of which contribute to our overall growth in Christ and understanding of our purpose in life. In this spiritual gym, every effort, no matter how small, builds toward a stronger spiritual walk with the Lord. After all, the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives is to make us more like Jesus!

Soar As Eagles – Relieving Fear

Does the cherished love of this earthly life and its blessings outweigh the glorious hope of eternity with the Lord? It is indeed a wonder to hear a believer in Christ speak of fearing death, when we know that dying is to be instantly and eternally present with our Lord. What treasure, relationship, or joy found here on Earth could possibly surpass the unimaginable peace and perfection that await us when we finally see Christ face to face?

But should we live to see the Rapture of the Church, we won’t experience physical death, which many consider a true blessing. What a special reward for those believers who live in the end times as we do!!! This unique event for the Church symbolizes hope and steadfast faith, reminding us of the promises bestowed upon us from God’s Word. The thought of this should excite us to the core, filling our hearts with anticipation and joy as we look forward to a glorious reunion with our Saviour and Bridegroom, as well as the loved ones who have gone before us. 💜 Each day brings us closer to that moment, and it is our Christian duty to remain vigilant, tell people about Christ’s salvation, and encourage one another in our faith.

Does this not excite you? Does this not set your fears aside, even for a moment? To soar as eagles, we must look at the wonderful blessings of God’s Word rather than our circumstances. The Apostle Paul gave us the perfect recipe on how to develop this mindset and grasp God’s promises in our lives! God’s Word always provides solutions for His child, offering guidance, strength, and comfort during fearful times. If you are a negative thinker, this is the perfect verse to turn that around; it serves as a powerful reminder that we are not alone in our struggles. All things are possible with Christ (Philippians 4:13), who gives us strength us to rise above our fears and transform our thoughts. Grab on to this truth, and allow it to shape your thought life.

This verse provides the ultimate remedy for negative thinking. If fear has become your constant companion, it reveals a lack of trust in God’s care for you—when you truly consider it, that’s the heart of the issue. Overcoming fear requires intentional practice, like strengthening a muscle through exercise. Discipline your mind to focus on the virtues listed in Philippians 4:8
and the joy of the blessed hope!

With the Rapture of the Church, every earthly fear and worry will vanish. Until then, don’t miss out on the good things, remembering that Nehemiah 8:10b assures us the joy of the Lord is your strength. To consistently dwell in fear is self-destructive, like voluntarily drinking poison while expecting no negative outcome.

Soar As Eagles – Fixing Brokenness

Even Christians experience heartaches that overwhelm their lives. How they deal with those heartaches is what makes them different from those who do not know Christ. With the Christmas holiday fast approaching, we hear stories of people who hate to see it coming. They are lonely and miss their families desperately, feeling the weight of their absence more heavily than ever during this season. Each day feels longer, filled with a sense of emptiness that is difficult to put into words. All they have are cherished memories that repeatedly come to mind, flickering like flames that briefly light up their hearts. Their minds wander through the laughter and warmth of past gatherings, but this bittersweet nostalgia only deepens their sadness. Their hearts are broken because they fear that there will be no future memories to be made, leaving them with a sense of hopelessness that looms as the holiday approaches, and it casts a shadow over what should be a time of joy and togetherness.

For those who do not believe, these verses are just text, offering none of the hope they search for. However, for the born-again believer, these two simple verses act as a defibrillator, revitalizing the heart. The Holy Spirit breathes life into them when a Christian reads them, initiating a domino effect: the broken heart finds hope, sorrow gives way to peace, and light appears at the end of the tunnel.

Overcoming fears and heartache is a given on the Christian spiritual walk. The way you process these trials is what grants you the power to soar as an eagle. You must permit God’s Word to penetrate your soul and mind, drawing it in completely through spiritual absorption, like osmosis. Upon meditating on them, you will discover that your spirit has been encouraged and strengthened! God will not lead you astray and only wants to draw you close by His side!

Soar As Eagles – Enduring Adversities

Have you ever started out strong doing what you know God would want and then fizzle out because of the road blocks? Strong’s Concordance defines temptation in this verse as “adversity, a putting to proof, to try.” We tend to look at this word as meaning being tempted to sin. However, that is not always the case. In fact, temptation can take on various forms, encompassing trials and challenges that test our faith and resolve. We often forget that these tests are not merely obstacles but opportunities for growth and deeper understanding of our walk with the Lord. By recognizing the similarities between today’s verse and the following, we can gain insight into the nature of our struggles and learn how to navigate them with perseverance. Notice the use of the word in:

God allows trials and adversities in order to test our mettle. Your courage and strength of spirit is what pulls you through the different “battles” you encounter along the way. Is your mettle strong when adversity strikes? Or do you crumble and fall apart at the seams? Each of our battles is an opportunity to see God’s strength and power. I have a dear friend whom I led to the Lord that lost her husband right before Thanksgiving. She shared how her husband had left her without a secure future, leaving her in a state of uncertainty. Yet, within just a few days, an anonymous donor stepped in to pay her mortgage for the next year, providing her with the breathing room she needed to collect herself and plan for the future. This remarkable act of generosity shows us how the Lord provides for us in our times of need, often in ways we least expect. There is no need to fret when our mettle is being tested because the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills is our Father! He is faithful in all things; we are His child, after all. In moments of struggle, we can find solace in knowing that every challenge presents a chance to grow and deepen our faith, ultimately revealing the love and support we receive from our Creator, who walks alongside us through every storm. It opens new meaning to:

If you want to soar as eagles in your Christian life, turn your frantic response into one who knows that there is a crown of life waiting to be given to you when you meet your Saviour in face-to-face! If you are not 100% certain that you will go to Heaven when you die, please take a moment to read the Bible verses on this link! It will change your life and the course you are walking in this life!

Soar As Eagles – Seeking God’s Face

Although we cannot see God face-to-face, we can literally get a glimpse of His appearance and character by diving into our Bibles: one cannot expect to know God outside of it! The Lord has left us one of the greatest literary works in history, filled with wisdom, teachings, and accounts that guide us in our daily lives, yet many leave it to collect dust without opening it even once. This precious text offers not only a historical account of God’s interactions with humanity but also timeless principles that can be applied in our modern-day lives. Each page is a treasure filled with insights that invite us to reflect on our faith (or lack of it), ultimately drawing us closer to understanding the nature of God and His plans for us.

We cannot expect to soar as eagles if our wings are broken. When one is born again through the power of the Holy Spirit, those wings are healed, allowing the individual to rise above the challenges of life. In this transforming process, the new believer can read the Bible with understanding. Through its beautiful pages, rich with timeless wisdom, the believer will be able to find God’s will for his life, discovering guidance for every decision and a peace that surpasses all understanding. This journey of faith is one of continuous growth, where each verse brings clarity and direction, lighting the path that God intends for us to walk. The following verses become a Christian anthem to live by:

Believers can find strength in times of deep sorrow. I am a living testimony to this very statement, having weathered storms that felt insurmountable. Nothing crushes the heart more than when one’s own child abandons us, leaving wounds that seem impossible to heal. In these moments of despair, however, we are reminded that the Lord is faithful and provides us with the account of the prodigal son, covering this very topic! Through this parable, we see the unending love and forgiveness that awaits those who stray. What other literary work can you turn to that has the answers to every question under the sun? The Bible is a timeless treasure of wisdom and guidance, offering comfort and hope in our darkest hours. If you are not born again, you won’t be able to understand what you are reading in the Bible; the words may appear mere ink on paper and will be “dry”. You need salvation in order to receive the Holy Spirit of the living God, who lights up the truth nestled within those precious pages. He is the One who wrote the Scriptures through Christ’s apostles and disciples, ensuring that generations to come would have access to God’s love and compassion.
