About me
Welcome! I’m Kate Plourde, and I am so thrilled you are here. Though I was born in New Brunswick, Canada, I grew up in Northern Maine. By age 25, I found myself in a dark, seemingly hopeless place, facing a failing marriage and overwhelming despair. I planned to end my life on a Saturday in 1980. Instead, God used my dear friend Vicky to completely change my eternity. During her vacation, she shared a cassette tape by Hal Lindsey about The Late Great Planet Earth. Having an interest in Nostradamus, I listened intently as he detailed the Rapture, the Tribulation, and the plan of salvation—truths I had never heard in my Catholic upbringing. When the speaker literally answered my silent thoughts, I fell to my knees, asked for forgiveness, and was gloriously born again on April 1, 1980.
Today, I am happily retired and living near Virginia’s beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1974, and we are blessed with two sons and four wonderful grandchildren. We actively serve in a church that boldly preaches God’s Word and eagerly awaits Christ’s return. My writing journey began in 2005 when Vicky asked me to write a devotional for her in-laws. I have been blogging ever since, sharing God’s grace across a variety of topics.
