The Anchored Soul – Day 12 – Christ is in Your Boat

The disciples found themselves in a terrifying predicament: they were in a literal storm while the Creator of the universe was fast asleep in the back of their boat. In Mark 4:37-39, we see that the external chaos: the wind and the waves filling the ship. This was only matched by the internal chaos of their fear.

Often, we focus on the “great calm” that followed Jesus’ command. But the real lesson is who was in the boat. When Christ is at the center of our lives, the “storm” loses its power to destroy us. As born-again believers, we have the same privilege as the disciples did with Christ being in their boat! Reader, Christ is in your boat!

Reflect:

  • The Storm is Real: Jesus didn’t promise a life without waves; He promised His presence within them.
  • The Center Holds: When our focus shifts from the height of the waves to the presence of the Saviour, our internal “sea” settles long before the external circumstances change.

Even when the wind howls, you can rest. If the Master of the sea is in your boat, the storm is merely an opportunity to show you His power.
