Soar As Eagles – Speak Up!

What would happen to your relationship if it was hit or miss with your conversations with your spouse, or if you only “spoke” when you went to church together? That relationship would quickly dissolve, as an intimate relationship thrives on regular and open communication. It is through consistent dialogue that partners understand each other’s thoughts, feelings, and needs, allowing for a stronger bond to form. Likewise, when it comes to our connection with the Lord, many people seem to think that praying to God is a one-way conversation and that He never talks back. However, this perspective can be misleading. Just as meaningful relationships require active participation from both sides, our relationship with God can often be enriched through moments of meditation, silence, and the quiet whispers of guidance. It invites us to reconsider the ways we engage with the Lord, asking ourselves whether we are truly listening and opening our hearts to that two-way communication with Him.

Prayer is us reaching out to God, and in return, God reaches out to us through His Word or through other believers. God wants us to pray and He wants to show us His will, guiding us along our journey. He desires a deep, personal relationship with each of us, one that flourishes through prayer and heartfelt conversation. He also wants to reveal Himself to us if we would only take time to be still from the hustle and bustle of the world, to quiet our minds and open our hearts, creating a place for His presence. In these moments of solitude, we are able to listen more intently, inviting His peace and wisdom to wash over us as we seek understanding and clarity in our lives. It is in prayer that we find strength, comfort, and hope, aligning ourselves with God’s purpose.

God desires to meet with us. So much so, He left His Holy Spirit to dwell within us, offering a constant companion and guide in our daily lives. Spend time getting to know Him through prayer, meditation, and reading His Word, allowing these moments to deepen your relationship with Him. Thank Him for your blessings, both big and small, recognizing the beauty in the ordinary everyday things. Bless Him for who He is—a loving, merciful, and just God—acknowledging His goodness in every situation. Share your heart with Him openly; tell Him your troubles and needs, for He listens intently. He wants to carry your burdens so you don’t have to, inviting you to lay your anxieties at His feet and experience the freedom that comes from trusting in His plan for you. Let this be a reminder of His unwavering presence and the comfort that He offers in every season of life.
