Soar As Eagles – You’re Connected!

The first mention of angels came when Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden and Cherubims guarded the entrance with a flaming sword (Genesis 3:24). Again, we see Cherubims on the ark of the testimony at the mercy seat (Exodus 25:22). Because God Himself gave the instructions on how they should constructed, we can see that Cherubim have wings. That is not to say that all angels have wings. Hebrews 13:2 tells us not to forget to entertain strangers because some have entertained angels unawares. As well, Genesis 19:5 describes angels looking like men. No matter how you view angels, we know that God has assigned some to take care of and protect us here on earth.

These verses highlight God’s promise to send His angelic messengers to protect, guide, and serve believers. This gives us reassurance that we are not alone and God is always providing protection in one form or another. We are literally connected to God through His Holy Spirit as He dwells within every born-again believer. You are not alone! I can give you several examples from my own family and friends that give an account of angels protecting us.

Since there are heavenly angels, we learn there are also demonic ones, commonly referred to as demons. These malevolent beings are considered to be the helpers of Satan and serve his nefarious purposes, continually attacking us in various ways. They might instigate doubt and fear, tempting individuals to stray from their moral paths or create discord within relationships. Furthermore, demons can influence emotions, manipulating circumstances to lead people into despair or chaos. Understanding their existence reminds us of the ongoing spiritual battle that takes place around us, urging us to remain vigilant, seek strength, and rely on our faith to counteract their insidious tactics.

Our Father did not leave us defenseless but has provided us with the tools of spiritual armour in order to fight these battles. Anyone who is “in their bibles” regularly can tell you the different pieces of our spiritual armour. But what about when the possible attacks come at times when we need more than just that? A friend of mine was walking with her mother when she was a little girl. My friend was half way across the street when she was pushed out of the way of on-coming traffic. When she got up, her mother was on the other side of the street! So who pushed her? I truly believe it was one of guardian angels taking care of her. That same friend led me to the Lord, and in turn I was able to lead others to the Lord! Imagine if she had not been pushed out of harms way?

I’m sure there are many such stories to be heard. I share this post about angels only as a reminder that you are connected to the Lord in more ways than salvation. God has you on His mind all the time; yes, you!
