Soar As Eagles – Trials and Temptations

Overcoming temptation is something all believers have in common. Some are more successful at it than others, but to overcome it is always possible by submitting to the Holy Spirit in our lives. Walking in the Spirit is like exercising a muscle. You must practice it daily in order to be able to overcome the temptations of this world! Temptation is often interpreted as desiring to do something wrong or unwise. However, the Greek word for temptation in 1 Corinthians 10:13 also defines it as:

peirasmos
pi-ras-mos’
From G3985; a putting to proof (by experiment [of good], experience [of evil], solicitation, discipline or provocation); by implication adversity: – temptation, X try.

It can be said that temptation, as in James 1:13-14, occurs when one dwells on a particular sin. At this point, a born again Christian has a choice to either say no to sin or nurture the thought to the point where he actually commits that sin. By understanding the nature of such temptations, the believer can discern their origins and the tactics that lead to these moments of weakness. The believer can make the choice to overcome that temptation. It isn’t always easy but it is always doable! With each challenge faced, there is an opportunity for spiritual growth and deeper dependence on God’s strength. As 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us, God always provides a way to escape that temptation: it could come as a Bible verse popping into your mind, a gentle reminder of His promises, or your phone rings to interrupt your thoughts, drawing you back to a more godly focus. These moments of guidance serve as a testament to God’s unwavering presence in the believer’s life, encouraging them to turn away from sin and toward a life filled with purpose and righteousness.

The Holy Spirit desires to make you more like Jesus Christ, assisting in your spiritual growth and transformation. He is there to teach us valuable lessons about love, compassion, and humility, guiding us on our journey of faith. In moments of doubt or difficulty, He provides comfort and strength, reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles. By developing your need for an understanding of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives, we can gain wisdom and understanding, drawing closer to the heart of God and reflecting on His character in our daily lives.

As born again Christians, we have been given the power to say no to temptation. My “go to” verse when I am being tried is Philippians 4:13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. I quote this verse over and over until the temptation passes. This helps us to understand what Paul is referring to in the following verses:

If you are not born again, you cannot overcome sin. You need the help of the Holy Spirit. Please take a moment and read the Bible verses in this link. They will guide you to salvation if you truly desire to be saved.

Do Not Be Afraid – Day 20

Some people live in fear over everyday issues; it’s their nature to be afraid of unknown outcomes and the uncertainties that life can bring. This fear can manifest in various ways, affecting their mental well-being and overall outlook on life. However, as believers in Jesus Christ, we know that His return could happen at any time, and this perspective provides us with immense hope and assurance. Instead of succumbing to fear, we are encouraged to embrace faith, anchoring ourselves in the promises of God. Furthermore, Jesus gave us His Word, the Bible, to prepare us for these times as we await His return, offering guidance and wisdom through its teachings. It serves not only as a source of comfort but also as a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles. In these challenging moments, we can find solace in prayer and fellowship with other believers, reinforcing our faith and encouraging one another to remain steadfast as we look forward to the glorious day of His coming.

You must build and add on to your Scripture knowledge. It’s very much like building a house. You start from the bottom and work your way up! The foundation of your knowledge is salvation through Jesus Christ and Him only. This foundational understanding provides not only security but also a sense of purpose in your spiritual journey. As you continue to grow, it’s essential to explore the various teachings and parables found in the Bible, allowing them to shape your character and guide your decisions. Just as a house needs strong walls and a sturdy roof to withstand storms, your faith must be reinforced with prayer, church, and practical application of biblical principles. Each layer you add will enhance your understanding and deepen your relationship with God, ultimately leading you toward a life filled with His blessings, wisdom and comfort during these end times.

After you have your foundation built on Jesus Christ, learn as much as you can about the end times. It’s much like preparing for a 10K marathon; you practice every day and add a little more to your distance to build up your stamina, ultimately growing stronger both physically and mentally. The end times and its events are happening before our very eyes, manifesting in ways that challenge our understanding of the world around us. Who would have thought that the antisemitic slurs would return after the horrible monstrosities of World War II? No one! Yet, they have returned and are growing every day, revealing the dark echoes of history and raising alarms about the future. If you read and study your Bible, you would know that this has to happen in order to set up for the Ezekiel 38 and 39 war, events that are foretold in Scripture and hold severe judgment for humanity. Everyone will be against Israel, creating a event filled with judgments never before seen, therefore something monumental has to happen in order for this prophecy to be fulfilled. It doesn’t happen overnight; it’s a gradual buildup of events that require vigilance, prayer, and an understanding of the Scriptures relating to the end times as we live our lives during these turbulent times. Being prepared means nurturing a faith that can withstand the growing trials we are sure to face.

If you knew that a tornado was going to ravage your town in a week at a certain specific time, wouldn’t you build an underground storm cellar to prepare? Such a proactive measure would ensure that you have a safe haven to retreat to in the face of the storm’s wrath, shielding you and your loved ones from the threatening winds and flying debris. You would meticulously stock this storm cellar with essential supplies, including water, non-perishable food, first aid kits, and flashlights, ensuring you are equipped to endure the storm and any aftermath. By preparing, you become not only a protector of your family but also a beacon of readiness in your community. Even though the tornado doesn’t happen next week, you have everything in order, instilling a sense of peace and security that only comes from being well-prepared for the unexpected. Your foresight may even inspire others to take similar precautions, creating a culture of preparedness and resilience in the face of nature’s unpredictable challenges.

Be prepared by grounding yourself in God’s Word. Don’t be afraid but be ready!

Do Not Be Afraid – Day 19

The New York mayoral election results in November made many Christians afraid of America’s future. But should Christians be afraid? Today’s Bible verse reveals that if our hearts and minds are fixed on the Lord and trust Him, we won’t be afraid of that day’s headlines. Instead, we can find peace and reassurance in our faith, understanding that God’s sovereignty prevails over every situation and uncertainty!! The word “tidings,” according to Strong’s Concordance, means: news or information that brings either joy or sorrow, depending on its nature. In times of challenging news, Christians are called to hold on to the promises found in Scripture, which encourage us to look beyond the current circumstances and focus on the eternal hope we have in Christ. Let us not be swayed by the current events but rather be grounded in the truth of God’s Word, which provides a solid foundation during turbulent times. Strong’s further defines “tidings” as:

shemû‛âh
shem-oo-aw’
Feminine passive participle of H8074; something heard, that is, an announcement: – bruit, doctrine, fame, mentioned, news, report, rumor, tidings.

When I woke up the morning after the elections, my heart sank, heavy with the uncertainty of what the future might hold for our nation. I began to inwardly fret, allowing worry to seep into my thoughts, but the Holy Spirit quickly reminded me that Romans 8:28 is still in the Bible, offering a foundation of hope and reassurance that ALL things works together for good. God does not want His children to be afraid of what MAY or will happen; instead, He calls us to trust in His divine plan. His providence will take precedence over everything that happens, guiding us through tumultuous times. If a religion other than Christianity takes over America, it is God’s will for our Country’s punishment. Conversely, if our Country is ruled by a moral President and Congress, it signifies our Country’s reward for upholding the values that align with His vision. We cannot be so caught up in the circumstances that we forget just Who is on the throne! In every moment of fear or doubt, we must anchor our hope in the truth that God is sovereign over all, orchestrating events for the greater good for Israel and for His children.

If you are fretting today, learn to trust God and His providence, for through faith, we can find peace in the midst of turmoil. The world must come to a point where every country will be against Israel so it can usher in the seven-year Tribulation period, a time of great testing and fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 reveal to us that this will happen, detailing the events that will unfold in the last days. All prophecies to date have come true, and therefore, all prophecies which haven’t happened yet, will come true as well! This certainty of future events reassures us in moments of doubt and confusion. Rest in God’s care and the fact that Christ will remove His bride, the born-again Church, before God’s wrath is unleashed upon this God-forsaken world. Let this knowledge fill you with courage and strength as we live these challenging times together, trusting in God’s unchanging promises.

If you are not born again, you need to be or you will go through the worst time ever to happen on earth. It will be like no other, including Noah’s flood. You must be born again and accept Christ as your Saviour in order to get into Heaven. Please follow this link and it will take you through Bible verses that will help you with your decision!
