Comforting Words

Things in this life are never constant. If there is one thing we can count on it’s that things will change. But do you know what? God never changes! We know that God helped David, then He will help you. We know that God can work miracles, then God can work a miracle in your life.

Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The first miracle that ever happened to me was when Jesus Christ saved my soul! If you knew me in my past life, you would have thought that there was no hope for me. I was lost as lost could be when it came to “religion,” wandering through life without direction, trying to deal with my feelings of emptiness and despair. God was the last thing on my mind when I laid my head on the pillow, and each night felt heavier than the last. So much so, I planned my suicide. Yet, in that dark moment, the light of His grace broke through the shadows of my doubts and fears. He sent a dear friend to show me how truly accepting God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, I could have a brand new life: a life that would transform my heart and give me a renewed sense of purpose and hope.

Today’s hymn was written by a woman who was blind but yet she truly could “see” Jesus! Despite her physical limitations, her unwavering faith illuminated her spirit, allowing her to perceive Jesus in ways that many with sight could not. Her faith was her sight, guiding her through the darkness and filling her heart with hope and love. I hope the words of this hymn speak to your heart, encouraging you to look beyond the surface of your challenges and to embrace the beauty of unseen blessings. May this message inspire you to recognize the powerful connection between faith and vision in your own life.

Take the World But Give Me Jesus – by Fanny Crosby

1 Take the world, but give me Jesus,
all its joys are but a name;
but his love abides forever,
through eternal years the same.

Refrain:
Oh, the height and depth of mercy!
Oh, the length and breadth of love!
Oh, the fullness of redemption,
pledge of endless life above!

2 Take the world, but give me Jesus,
sweetest comfort of my soul;
with the Savior watching o’er me,
I can sing, though thunders roll. [Refrain]

3 Take the world, but give me Jesus;
in his cross my trust shall be
till with clearer, brighter vision
face to face my Lord I see. [Refrain]

One day, we will all have to face Jesus Christ, the moment that every individual must confront, regardless of their beliefs or circumstances. That time is appointed to everyone, and there is no getting around it; it serves as a reminder of accountability for our actions. As we journey through life, we may often stray from this truth, but ultimately, each soul will have to reckon with their choices and the impact they have made.

Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
