Provoking The Most High

How does one make fun of God? It is quite simple, actually. It comes in many different forms, but at its root, it attacks the very principles outlined in the Bible. It began with Lucifer when he thought he could be as God. The result of this prideful endeavor took a third of the angels with him and all were cast out of Heaven. Since that day,

The Bible has a lot to say about what provokes God. A few examples of such provocation can be seen in:

We see that anything that goes against God’s will, or makes fun of His nature, provokes His anger. These are just a few verses outlining what God is against. In them, you can see what goes against God’s will, and illustrating the consequences of turning away from His commandments. In Psalm 106:28-29, we see that the people sacrificed to Baalpeor, a chilling example of how easily a society can be led astray. Just who was this “god”? He was known as Baal of Peor and was a Moabite idol, a variant of the Canaanite god named Baal, worshipped on Mount Peor through rituals laden with immorality and idolatry. This worship revolved around sexual immorality and extreme forms of idolatry, which serve as reminders of the dangers of deviating from true faith. With the trans movement and the alphabet group, we see a modern manifestation of this ancient practice, as societal norms shift towards accepting and even glorifying behaviors that sideline God’s teachings. Granted, those involved may not believe they are serving another god, but in their actions, they are indeed placing something above the divine authority of God, thus becoming unwitting participants in a cycle of rebellion. In so doing, they are bringing judgment upon themselves, facing spiritual consequences that can ripple through our communities. Furthermore, the abortion industry is booming, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling, as many turn a blind eye to the sanctity of life. They are shedding innocent blood and bringing judgment not only upon themselves but also on our great nation, eroding the moral fabric that has historically united us. It is vital for us to reflect on these truths, to stand firm in our convictions, and to advocate for a return to the principles that honor God’s will.

Lastly, as believers we are watching our land turning against Israel, a situation that is as distressing as it is alarming. Anti-Semitism is on the rise, not only here in the U.S. but all over the world, manifesting in various forms from rhetoric to violent actions. How can we possibly be returning to the ideology of the 1930’s and 1940’s, one of the darkest periods in history that saw immense suffering? Did this world not learn anything from the past? Our President is changing his stand as it relates to the land that rightfully belongs to Israel, which could bring judgment upon our nation and lead to severe consequences for our moral compass. The only explanation for this overall shift against Israel is that we are living in the end times and that the devil knows his time is short. As we witness these events unfold, it’s vital for believers to remain vigilant, to stand firm in solidarity with Israel, and to pray for peace and restoration, knowing that the battle is a spiritual one.

If you “happened” onto this website and you feel God tugging at your heart, please follow this link and read what the Bible says about salvation. Our time here is short, and soon, possibly today, born-again Christians will be taken from this earth, ushering in a new era that many refer to as the Rapture. A time spoken of in Scripture as the seven-year Tribulation will come upon the earth, a period marked by unprecedented challenges and turmoil. You do not want to be part of it, as it is going to be the most horrible time ever recorded in human history, filled with suffering and despair beyond our comprehension. Please, take this post seriously and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, who offers hope and redemption in these troubling times. Only He can save you and provide the peace that surpasses all understanding, guiding you through life’s trials and into eternal life. Don’t hesitate; seek Him today, for tomorrow may be too late!

The Most High – How Does God Know?

Since I came to Christ in 1980, I am able to say that these verses in Psalm 73 could have been written today! I have seen ever-increasing hatred for the Most High God, an occurrence that seems to permeate every corner of society. Blaspheming and mocking what is good is more prevalent today than ever before, infiltrating our media, conversations, and even the very fabric of culture. The unbelieving world may not say it verbatim, but their actions speak for them loud and clear. They make fun of anything and anyone who is holy and righteous, ridiculing values that once were held in high esteem. It’s as if they receive joy in this mockery, reveling in a distorted sense of freedom that dismisses anything that is sacred. However, God does know what they are doing, and He does see everything; His justice is not blind, and He remains steadfast for those who seek Him amidst the chaos. In times like these, it is crucial for believers to stand firm in their faith, understanding that while the world may scoff, the truth of God’s word remains unshakeable and eternal.

Those responsible for the taking of innocent blood don’t believe that God sees their actions; they could care less. In their minds, the consequences of their deeds seem distant and irrelevant, overshadowed by a pursuit of power or personal gain. What Christians see as evil, the world sees as good or progressive, and vice versa. This tragic reversal of values creates moral confusion where society champions ideas that contradict fundamental principles of Christianity: compassion, mercy, justice, and love. As the lines between right and wrong blur even more, it becomes increasingly challenging for individuals to discern truth from falsehood in a chaotic landscape of conflicting beliefs.

Christianity is now being censored in many countries, a trend that raises significant concerns about religious freedom worldwide. It doesn’t come as a surprise now that England is 55% Muslim, which illustrates a dramatic shift in the religious landscape of the nation. This transformation has led to an environment where we see Jews and Christians being silenced and persecuted, often under the guise of political correctness or social harmony. The country that once proudly produced preachers like George Whitfield and Charles Spurgeon, who fervently preached the gospel and spread Christian values, is now falling prey to the influences of Islam and the constriction of rival religious expressions. The rise of anti-Semitism is not just confined to one or two countries but can be found in most every country in the world, as hatred toward Jews festers, leading to violent acts and discrimination against those of different faiths. This global issue is compounded by the increasing reluctance of governments to address these problems, leaving religious minorities vulnerable and without the protection they desperately need. The enemy does not attack religions that are not of the One Most High, Judaism and Christianity. The enemy attacks only what God loves.

We are living in a time where anything that is good is going to be removed and replace with total evil. Once the Church is removed at the Rapture, we can be sure that the devil will have his way. In the end, the devil won’t win because the King of Kings and Lord of Lords will come to destroy those who hate His Name.

Look up, reader! Christ is coming for His Church, His Bride! You do not want to be left behind to experience the worst time in history. All you have to do is read a history book about the worst persecutions and devastations ever to occur on earth. They will pale in comparison to the Tribulation; you don’t want to go through that. The Most High – Possessor of the Earth

Genesis 14:19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

Genesis 14:22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

What beautiful words!! Not only did God create the heavens and the earth, but He possesses them entirely and holds complete sovereignty over all creation. In this we find salvation’s story, which is elaborately woven into the creation of the world. It involves an intimate relationship between God and man and reveals God’s character! We see this as it is revealed in the Hebrew word “possessor”: it is defined as:

qânâh
kaw-naw’
A primitive root; to erect, that is, create; by extension to procure, especially by purchase (causatively sell); by implication to own: – attain, buy (-er), teach to keep cattle, get, provoke to jealousy, possess (-or), purchase, recover, redeem, X surely, X verily.

The definition of “possessor,” made my spirit leap for joy! Do you see it? Do you see salvation’s story in it? It’s a profound reminder of our journey and the divine plan of God to be part of our existence. But most importantly, do you see the Trinity in that word? Jesus, the Creator and possessor of the world, is God made flesh by the Holy Spirit, embodying both humanity and divinity, revealing the relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This connection illustrates not only the greatness of our Creator but also the intimate ways in which He engages with His creation. He is guiding us toward redemption and hope!! Through this understanding, we come to appreciate the depth of His love and the transforming power it holds in our lives.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  (2)  The same was in the beginning with God.  (3)  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, created a perfect earth along with two perfect people: Adam and Eve. They lived in a perfect garden with everything they would ever need. But Adam and Eve brought about their exile from the Garden because they made the choice to sin. It wasn’t God’s fault that there’s evil in this world, as many in the world claim. God never intended death to be a part of His creation. The destruction of the earth and mankind began the moment man’s choice to sin came into the picture. What was Adam and Eve’s first attempt to make things right? They tried to cover themselves with garments (fig leaves) made with hands. It has been this way ever since. All religions involve the same process: if I work hard enough, I might do enough good to earn my way to Heaven. However, man cannot work hard enough nor redeem himself. As the Old Testament reveals through Abraham, it takes a spotless sacrifice. No one that has ever lived on this earth from the beginning of time can say they are without at least one sin.

Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Psalm 14:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psalm 14:3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Only Jesus, the Possessor of the earth and Captain of our salvation, can claim this profound truth. Do you see it? It is only through Jesus Christ that we can find freedom and forgiveness for our sins, a gift offered to all who believe in Him. His sacrifice on the cross serves as the ultimate demonstration of love and grace, providing the way for our redemption. In acknowledging His lordship, we not only receive mercy but also transformation, as our hearts are renewed and our lives are changed. (See 2 Corinthians 5:17) This is the promise He extends to each of us, encouraging us to turn away from our burdens and embrace a new life filled with hope and purpose. His light guides us through darkness, reminding us that no sin is too great to be forgiven; it is through Him that we discover true peace and the joy of salvation.

Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

If you happened on this post today and do not know with 100% certainty that if you were to die today that you would go to heaven, then please follow this link and the Bible verses will guide you on this important journey. God wants us to know for certain that we are forgiven, and He desires a personal relationship with each of us. It is essential to understand that salvation is not just about escaping judgment, but about receiving a life filled with purpose, joy, and the promise of eternal life. Please come to Jesus Christ today, the source of unconditional love and grace. He is your only hope, a refuge in times of trouble, and the one who understands your struggles. He won’t disappoint you, as His promises are steadfast and true, offering you peace that surpasses all understanding. Don’t wait any longer; take this step of faith and allow God’s love to transform your life. You can know for certain:

1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The Most High – Our High Priest

Have you ever heard of the principle of “First Mentions”? It suggests that when a word, theme or doctrine is first mentioned in the Bible, it has significance, and you should study the matter. The first mention of “the most high” is found in Genesis 14 when speaking of Melchizedek. It is here that we see learn he was the king of Salem; this city is now known as Jerusalem. Not only was he the king, but he was also the priest of the most high God! The following verses provide an understanding of Jesus’s role:

Genesis 14:18-20 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.  (19)  And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: (20) And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. (15) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. (16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 5:8-10 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (9) And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (10) Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 6:19-20 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (20) Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 7:1-3 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; (2) To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; (3) Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Hebrews 7:9-12 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.  (10)  For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. (11) If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? (12) For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Hebrews 7:14-17 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. (15) And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, (16) Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. (17) For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

The title for God the Father is “The Most High” – although we can’t totally understand the Trinity, we do understand that there are three distinct roles (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit) but all are One God. This mystery reveals that God’s nature goes beyond our human comprehension. Each role within the Trinity reveals unique attributes and qualities of the Divine: The Father as creator and sustainer, the Son as the redeemer and embodies God’s love, and the Holy Spirit as the guide, teacher, and comforter in our lives. When we reach Heaven, our faith will be made sight, and we will experience the fullness of His glory. In the meantime, we hold fast to our beliefs in faith, trusting that our understanding will deepen as we grow spiritually, and that our relationship with the Lord will continually mature, feeding our souls as we seek to live out His love and mission on Earth.

Each person of the Trinity has a distinct role that contributes to the greater whole.

  • The Father is the Most High and is our loving Father, who cares for each of His creations with infinite love and mercy.
  • Jesus Christ, who is the High Priest of the Most High, took on flesh in order to live a sinless life, facing every temptation we encounter, and ultimately shedding His blood to save us from eternal punishment and separation from God. You no longer need a priest to intercede between you and God because your High Priest, Jesus, has removed that barrier and replaced it with a relationship between God and man, a cherished bond that allows for direct communication and intimacy. You can now go to God the Father directly, bringing your prayers, hopes, and fears to Him with confidence and trust in His goodness.
  • The Holy Spirit is Jesus’s gift to the Church after He ascended into Heaven, ensuring we are never left alone in our spiritual journey. The Holy Spirit does so much in the believer’s life: He convicts us of sin, guiding us back to the path of righteousness, comforts us in our pain, providing solace in our darkest moments, teaches us through the Word, shedding light on our understanding, and gives us the power to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, equipping us to fulfill the Great Commission with boldness and grace.
