The Fall of the Roman Empire and the U.S.

It is interesting to see the similarities between the Fall of the Roman Empire and the course the United States is heading.

Between 1960 and 1990, out-of-wedlock births in the USA increased more than 500 percent (from 5.3 percent to 28 percent), single-parent families tripled, about 50 million babies were murdered in the womb, and violent crimes increased 500 percent. About 16,000 crimes occur on or around school campuses each day! In 2005, 37 percent of births were to unwed mothers, up from 36 percent in 2004 and 28 percent in 1990. The report stated that “The overall rise reflects the burgeoning number of people who are putting off marriage or are living together without getting married.” Are these the “Healthy Families” that the amoral campaign of that name is building by supporting abortion?

Homosexuals not only flaunt their sin in public, they are fêted, wooed, indulged, and thanked by politicians for their votes. It’s Sodom and Gomorrah again––or worse! In January 2007, Christian Vanneste, an MP in France’s ruling party was fined nearly $4,000 for saying that homosexuality is “inferior to heterosexuality” and would be “dangerous for humanity if it was pushed to the limit.” Of course, these are the facts. But daring to express the undeniable truth unleashes the wrath of police and courts in their zeal to protect the feelings of a favored class that complains of being offended.

Homosexuals and lesbians don’t procreate as God commanded mankind to do. The Creator’s very first commandment to Adam and Eve was, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth…” (Gn 1:28). “Gays” defy God’s very first words to mankind. They seek not children but pleasure, to the exclusion of all else. And in their self-absorbed folly, they taunt us with “gay pride.” Are they proud that their lifestyle is not only “dangerous” (it shortens the lifespan by 24 years2) but that it would abruptly end the human race if universally adopted? What madness supports this celebrated perversion?

Historian Polybius attributed the fall of ancient Rome to pedophilia progressed from rampant homosexuality among aristocrats. During the reign of Justinian, homosexuality and bestiality were acceptable as Roman entertainment.

However, many historians, including Edward Gibbon, in The Decline and Fall of The Roman Empire, suggest that the fall of Rome was assured only when the depravity of Roman society transcended to the military’s legions, where such self-indulgences replaced disciplines that made Rome’s legions so formidable. Moral corruption of the legions left the people unprotected from the crude armies that ultimately sacked Rome.

A great many children were born out of wedlock.

The Romans practiced infanticide, contraception and abortion in order to limit the number of children born to the Roman family. In terms of contraception, the Romans used amulets, magic potions, formulas, potions, oils and appointments. Most were ineffective.

Interestingly enough, the world says that Rome fell because of:

* Decay
* Financial Problems
* The Dole and Barbarians
* Economic, Military, Gradual
* Christianity
* Vandals and Religious Controversy
* Division of the Empire
* Lead
* Hoarding and Deficit

Even the rise of Islam is proposed as the reason for Rome’s fall, by some who think the Fall of Rome happened at Constantinople in the 15th Century.

I don’t know about you, is it any wonder that the United States as a great nation is not mentioned in the Bible? Could it be that we are following the footsteps of the Roman Empire and will collapse from within?

Look at the details:

1. Children born out of wedlock
2. Homosexuality
3. Sexual perversions
4. Pedophelia
5. Military adopting sexual sin
6. Abortion
7. Infanticide
8. Contraception
9. Witchcraft
10. Islam
11. Religions turning away from true Christian roots

Look up, oh Christian! If you are not 100% certain that you are going to Heaven when you die, you should put the matter to rest today.

~Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

~2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

What is in a book?

Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read. ~Isaiah 34:16

God gave His Word to man so that we may seek Him and find salvation within its pages. The religions of man will add to and take away from God’s Word – they also state that traditions are equal to in importance as the Word of God.

What does God say in the matter? His Word is so important to God that He spoke of it 130 times. The word Bible is not in the Bible but the word book is. The Greek word for Bible is “a book.” It can be found from the first Book of Genesis all the way through to the last Book of Revelation. God did not leave us without a way to find Him. He breathed His Word onto every page and left it in written form so that His creation could find Him and find the salvation that He freely provided as a gift to us.

I pray that you will take the time to read these verses and let them speak to your heart. May your eyes be open that God speaks to us through His Word and we do have His Word today in a preserved state. For a topic to be so important to Him so as to mention “the book” in 130 verses, it stands to reason that He would protect it from destruction and the corruptions of man. The Creator of the universe is quite capable of preserving His Word through the ages.

Why list all 130 verses? Because the Word is that important!

Berean Beacon

I received three very hateful comments this morning filled with cursing – all three from the same person, a catholic who was very upset with the warnings on my blog about catholicism. True Christianity is not a religion but it is a relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ.

This dear soul was so upset from reading the truth (negative comments) about catholicism that the true lost condition of his/her heart came through each sentence. I was called horrible names and cursed. I don’t care about either of those things but I want the commentator to note that the reason I did not approve your comments was due to your vulgarity and cursings. I am not a catholic basher, as you put it. I stand ready to warn catholics so they may see the light as I saw the light. I was once deceived as you are but a dear friend showed me in God’s Word the way to salvation. The light can only be found in the Word of God. This is the only measuring stick man has to measure his religion with what God expects.

Dear catholic soul, if you do not want to believe me, please visit Richard Bennett’s site at Berean Beacon. He is a former catholic priest who has personally experienced the catholic church from “the inside” and how he was not fulfilled spiritually, even as a priest of the largest church in the world. If this dear man could not be spiritually fulfilled as a priest, how much more the laity? Please, I beg you, visit his site and read his testimony. Read the testimonies of the other priests and nuns who have found salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

Lastly, to the dear catholic soul who left these comments, please know I am praying for you and for all other catholics who visit this site. I pray that salvation is found within each page so that Christ, and Christ alone, may be glorified!

~Gal 1:6-8, 11-12 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: (6) Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. (7) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (8 ) But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. (11) For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. (12)

Chipmunks, Birds and Discouragement

This was shared in a post at The Fundamental Baptist Forum by Pastor Tim DeIello.

It is an excellent illustration helping us with discouragement. We have all been there, haven’t we?

Enjoy :-)

Discouragement, Chipmunks and Birds

The Distraction of Discouragement

I don’t know of a person who does NOT battle discouragement in one form or fashion. Some pretend that it does not exist. Some choose to deceive others by stating that everything is just fine.

I have yet to find a passage of scripture which reveals that one human being has not faced discouragement…ever.

Discouragement distracts us from the proper attitude of the heart

Discouragement detours us from Him directing our paths

Discouragement dissatisfies us from the blessings God abundantly gives

Discouragement DISCOURAGES OTHERS…thereby creating a stumbling block to a weaker brother

Discouragement distances us from joy, peace, contentment, knowledge, separation, convictions, godliness, discernment

Scriptures to read about discouragement
I Kings 19
I Sam 30
Jonah 4

There was a bird in the bird feeder yesterday and it just could not get out. I saw it go in. It was getting some bird seed that was between the glass siding. About 30 minutes later, I walked past the bird feeder and saw the little bird trying to get out. It kept beating its wings trying to get out of the feeder. I thought to myself, I can see your way of escape and yet you keep going the opposite way.

Instantly my mind flashed back to last Spring, when I saw a chipmunk struggling to keep its head afloat in one of the trash cans filled with water from the melting snow. For nearly two minutes that poor chipmunk struggled to keep his head out of water. Finally, it sank below the water line exausted from its struggle. Then, it resurfaced and again attempted to get out of the peril it was in. Finally, I decided to execute my mercy on the poor rodent. I tipped the trash can over to let the water out and most importantly the chipmunk. In so doing, I had to allow the water to overcome the chipmunk as it looked at me with panic. As the water gushed out I saw that the chipmunk was not alone. another chipmunk had died in that water sometime back and stunk something fierce.

I learned something from that experience. Treading near the trash can day after day will one day cause you to fall to your doom. (spiritualize it for yourself)
I learned that what I do does affect others.
I learned that if I want out… I may just have to be overwhelmed in the problem long enough for God to let me out.I learned that God was Sovereign and nothing happens to me that He did not plan.

**Back to the bird feeder….

The bird began to panic as I tipped the bird feeder on its side. It began to flutter back and forth and bang against the sides of the feeder. I thought to myself… “YOU STUPID BIRD…JUST TRUST ME. I AM TRYING TO TEACH YOU HOW TO GET OUT… I AM TRYING TO HELP YOU HERE…. BE STILL.”

Instantly a verse popped into my head:

Be still and know that I am God” ~Psalms 46:10 And then another, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ~Romans 8:28

As I lifted the top of the bird feeder, I saw the bird fly out of that bird feeder and into the trees. Then, I heard it chirping away. One final passage popped into my head and made me smile and rejoice. …He brought me out of an horrible pit and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings…Many shall see it and fear…. ~Psalms 40:1-3

Praise the Lord! Whether frustrated at your ministry, whether troubled at your failures and insecurities, whether trapped in a dangerous perilous mistake and can’t get out, or whether you got stuck getting too much of a good thing, God knows where you are and God knows what you need and God knows just how long to leave you.
