Source: Pope to host Catholic-Muslim forum From correspondents in Vatican City | March 06, 2008
THE Vatican and Muslim leaders have agreed to establish a regular official dialogue to improve sometimes difficult relations between the two religions.Open dialogue …. the Pope is to host a Catholic-Muslim forum in the Rome to improve relations between the religions / ReutersA joint statement said the first meeting of the The Catholic-Muslim Forum would take place in November in Rome with 24 religious leaders and scholars from each side.
The themes of the first session will be “Love of God, Love of Neighbour”, “Theological and Spiritual Foundation”, and “Human Dignity and Mutual Respect” and Pope Benedict XVI will address the group.
The announcement was made at the end of a two-day meeting at the Vatican with five representatives of a group of more than 200 Muslims who had signed an unprecedented appeal to the pope to begin a dialogue.
Catholic-Muslim relations nosedived in 2006 after Benedict delivered a lecture in Regensburg, Germany, that was taken by Muslims to imply that Islam was violent and irrational.
Muslims around the world protested and the pope sought to make amends when he visited Turkey’s Blue Mosque and prayed towards Mecca with its Imam.
After the fallout from the Regensburg speech, 138 Muslim scholars and leaders wrote to the German-born Pontiff and other Christian leaders last year, saying “the very survival of the world itself” may depend on dialogue between the two faiths.
Although Benedict repeatedly expressed regret for the reaction to his speech in Regensburg, he stopped short of a clear apology sought by Muslims.
The Koran is quite clear in its teachings. Anyone who disagrees is killed – plain and simple. How can any compromises or agreements be made between them?
Their agenda / my comment:
(1) Love of God / God’s love is for all the world, however, man must be born again and believe in Jesus Christ. Muslims will never believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour. (Joh 3:3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (Joh 3:16-18 ) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (16) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (17) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (18 )
(2) Love of Neighbour / Muslims will never love their neighbor because the Koran says that anyone who is not a true Muslim must be killed. (1 Jn 3:14) We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
(3) Theological and Spiritual Foundation / Hmmm… how in the world can one religion who “professes Jesus Christ” compromise with a religion who does not believe that Christ is the Son of God? It’s like comparing apples to oranges. You cannot!
(4) Human Dignity and Mutual Respect / Islam will never respect the infidel. Islam will never have human dignity.
Just look at a news article from Monday! Does this sound like a religion that respects human dignity?

Uncle beheads 15-month-old nephew in Saudi supermarket: report
Mar 3 06:03 AM US/Eastern
A man beheaded his 15-month-old nephew in front of his mother in a supermarket in Saudi Arabia apparently after a family dispute, newspapers reported Monday.
The 25-year-old Syrian national picked up a knife from the store in the Red Sea city of Jeddah on Sunday and decapitated the little boy in full view of shoppers, Arab News said.
The man apparently killed him following a dispute with his sister and brother-in-law, the English-language daily said.
“He chopped off the boy’s head in front of the mother to get back at her,” a police officer was quoted as saying. The mother fainted and was taken to hospital.
Murder is punishable by death in ultra-conservative Muslim Saudi Arabia, where the death sentence is usually carried out by beheading.
The prophet of Islam saught to kill all who disagreed with him. Islam’s Koran is filled with violence and inhumane treatment – considering those who are not Muslim or even those who are nominal Muslims as infidels – searching to conquer and killing all who stand in their way! If compromise can be reached between the catholic church and Islam, then we are indeed very close to the end times and Rapture and the Seven Year Tribulation are at the door!
